Andenes is the northernmost place in the world where spermwhales
can be watched. Since 1988, we have been organizing whalewatching safaries here where reserch, learning and adventure have been integrated into one package. The Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society has
made the following statement about our company: "Whalesafari in Andenes - the worlds biggest and best operator of Arctic whale safaries"

The trip begins with a guided tour at the Whale Center.

Prices include admission to the Whale Centre, guided tour of the museum, and guided boat trip with a light meal on board.

Puffin Safari

90 minute trip to the seabird colony on the
island of Bleiksøya, one of Norway’s most
famous bird cliffs. Amoung others 80,000
pairs of puffins and more than 6,000 pairs of kittiwakes raise their young here. Other species:cormorants, razorbills and guillemots.

White-tailed sea eagles are seen on every
trip.

Stave Hot Pools - 38 degrees

Your own catch of cod

Fishing on the open sea is the North
Norwegian Adventure. Deep-sea fishing trips- coley, cod, haddock, etc. Fishing tackle available on board.Have your catch cookedand served on board.

Diving

Kvalnesbrygga Camping og Divingcentre offer full service to divers. It is also a magnificent area for diving from boats and the seaside. It is possible to catch yuor own dinner from the quaiside. It is easy to catch fish from both the quaiside and boats.

Trips to the  Ramnan  mountain and sightseeing.

Andøy Taxi will take you to the summit, 468 metre above sea level. From there you can enjoy the magnificent view of Bleik an Andenes. Coffee and biscuits will be servedat the top.

Activities at Andøy Friluftssenter:

Andøy friluftssenter is an ideally location to have your base camp for your holiday experience. In cooperation with our professional partners we are able to organize a wide range of outdoor activities for all levels of experience and interest. We are able to provide fishing equipment, fishing boats and bikes. Special adventures can be arranged such as moose safari, midtnight sun walks, , whale safari, deep sea fishing, sea bird safaris, diving in the arctic sea, sea kayaking, and mountain walks and climbing.

Transportation services in modern buses in
different sizes. We will help you with guided
tours, transport to and from airports, the
coastal express and the railroad etc.

Fishing/hunting

Andøy has many salmon lakes and rivers. The most
well-known is the lakes and rivers of the Roksdals area. To fish for salmon, sea trout, trout, sea char and char you must buy a fishing permit from the area you wish to fish in. This can usually be bought from the local landowner. In addition to this you must pay a government fee if you wish to fish for salmon, sea trout and sea char in these
lakes and rivers. This is obtained from any post office. There are also many fantastic marsh and mountain areas where you can hunt grouse and black grouse, if you have the necessary permit and license.

Coastal path in Andøy
To walk along the beach is very common for the inhabitants of Vesterålen. This can be done all year round regardless of the weather. A project called "Coastal paths in Vesterålen" has been able to discribe this tradition in the form of a number of small booklets to enable everybody to experience these special areas of beauty. The coastal path from Stave to Bleik - the Måtin path, was chosen from Andøy Kommune. This path is of variable difficulty, but should never cause any problems for the average hiker.

Hiking on your own:
Måtind (408m)
This signposted hike is a three hour round trip which can also be undertaken by children. On the hike you pass by some old hunting traps for reindeer between Breidalsvatnet.

Ramnan (468m)
The gravel road takes you to the top of "Ramnan" so that you can enjoy the magnificent view over Vesterålen and Senja.

Forfjorddalen
This easy hike takes you into the valley of Forfjord
where you can experience northern europes oldest pine trees, the Russian Taiga.
